Mother's day
This post is late and not as profound as I thought about...but words fail me when I try to express how much these women mean to me. Love you!

Birthdays and baseball

Not much going on here so I will grab some excitement from family. My nephew Weston turned 8 Monday and little Callie is 6 months old already! Weston is in baseball mode but enjoys sports of any kind. He's playing shortstop and I heard he made some awesome plays last Saturday. Below his school competed in the kid version of the LR Marathon.

Cadaver Ball
Last weekend was Cadaver Ball - (kind of a Med-School Prom). It's a party to celebrate the end of gross anatomy. They seemed to have a fun weekend and it was a much needed break for the med-student and she enjoyed having Matt here from NC for the event. She's counting down till summer...only 2 1/2 weeks.

the babies fly...almost
The babies left the nest this weekend and the dogs found them but did not hurt them. One was still wandering around the yard tonight. Yesterday the parent birds were fussing when you got close but today I think they want the wandering bird to fly. It is amazing how quickly they grew in just 2 weeks or less.
yesterday - scared and cold
Today wandering around asking how to fly over the fence!

Friends and flowers
Busy month with a visitor from SC and entertaining while she was here so everyone could see her. A few of us went over to the last showing of the Southern Living designer home in Hot Springs (very pretty)...and then my first visit to Woodland Garvan Gardens. We lucked into a beautiful day and lovely azaleas, tulips, hydrangea tree, ferns, waterfalls...it is wonderful over there. We were directed to a great lunch place too.
Here is a sampling of the photos and some of my bird watching in the backyard.

Planting
Yesterday I bought and planted flowers. Today I'm sore but enjoy looking at my work. I built and planted that stacked thing. Here is the link. Moved some hostas and added color to that corner bed. All it needs now is a manedvilla the corner.
We also have a family of robins in the tree outside our back door. Mommy and Daddy Robin are busy feeding the new babies. We can stand in the kitchen window and see in the nest a little and watch them sit and feed. They don't like that we walk by there all the time. Renters can't be choosey though!
(Here ya go Sally!
